Catherine Destivelle is one of the greatest female climbers in the world today and certainly one of the most daring, often climbing without a rope, or any back-up support.
She has completed a number of solo climbs never accomplished before by a female climber, such as a winter climb up the north face of the Eiger and the south face of Xixapangma at 8,030m. She entered the International Climbing competition in the Italian Alps and won three years running and then in the fourth year she won the prestigious Snow Bird competition in the USA.
A number of films have been made of this extraordinarily brave young woman and she has published three successful books about her climbing exploits. She never stops challenging herself or nature, overcoming her fear every time she sets foot on the mountain.
Catherine’s world-wide audiences always remember the motivation and will to succeed that she inspires in her presentations.
