Kirsty Duncan
Professor Kirsty Duncan is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto, Canada where she lectures on medical geography. Kirsty is best known for the groundbreaking expedition which she led to the Norwegian Arctic in order to discover the cause of the 1918 Spanish influenza epidemic which killed an estimated 40 million people worldwide. Kirsty’s heart-warming presentations are exceptionally informative and inspirational and serve as an excellent motivational tool for decision makers from the world of business. Her extensive research and expedition planning demonstrate the importance of the development of new ideas and techniques and her work is internationally recognised. Following the completion of her doctoral degree Kirsty worked for the United Nations University (1992-1993), the University of Windsor (Associate professor with tenure, 1993-2001) and the University of Toronto (1995-present). She is currently teaching leadership and management to the Vice Presidents of TD Canada Trust and also serves as executive coach and facilitator for the same organisation. Amongst her many accolades Kirsty was nominated for ‘Canada’s Top 40 Under 40’ in 1997,1998, 1999 and 2001. As well as being nominated for the prestigious ‘Order of Ontario’ in 2000 and 2001, she was also invited to submit a biography for the millennium edition of Canada’s Who’s Who in 1999. Kirsty Duncan is a remarkable young lady with an impressive track record and a wealth of talent – marathon runner, tri-athlete, dancer and musician, her interests cover a broad spectrum of topics and she is now in great demand as a speaker. She has given numerous talks throughout the world and her emotive and passionate style of delivery is highly inspirational and motivating.
